Issue with MPC Essentials software

I own an MPC Element and yesterday for some strange unknown reason it started working incorrectly. I played something i came up with to a friend no problem and then the next time I tried playing it there were sounds missing. When you look at the pads they all light up like normal but only certain pads in the A bank are making noise. I have no idea whats going on and its frustrating as hell. I dont know if maybe something got activated like a setting or something to mute certain pads but I'm going nuts trying to fix this. I literally played the track, picked my cpu up and put it back down and now this!! The only things that seem to have been affected are the last 2 beats i made, all my previous stuff sounds fine, all pads are responsive, and if I start a new project the pads work. When i exported the project as an audio mixdown and play it in itunes what plays is the songs with all those pads not working. Any help would be great! Is it the software(i think so) or the hardware???
