hey when i was working, i couldnt get the idea out of my mind of the possible live-mode on the renaissance.... i notice song also has (shift)orange letters saying other....
i was thinking shift+song should enable live-mode, or remix-mode whatever u wanna call it...

basicly my idea....

Live-Mode :

Shift+song enable use to choose whatever sequences are loaded, and the bar-length u want to use of those sequences....and change them on the fly while your playing
Qlink 1 till Qlink16 has (changeable) effects , u can control while turning the knob....and quickly turned on or off by touching the top of the qlink
when pad bank B is pressed, u get the volume per track in the sequence, so qlink1 control volume of track 1, qlink2 of track 2.... etc.....Qlinks are touchsensitive so mute and unmute could be done by touching the top of the q link....
use of pads :
Pad 1 = Stutter effect (which is basicly note-repeat on a sequence, so just as in note-repeat u should be able to select 1/4 /1/8 1/16 1/32 1/64 (3) )
Pad 2 = turntable losing power effect
Pad 3 = turntable start effect
Pad 4 = reverse
(other people feel free to suggest more)
when u go to padbank B u can zoom-in/ jump-in in corresponding track, for instance i press i pad 8, then i go to step-edit of that track so i can change the pattern (assuming its drumprogram, when its a plugin u should be able to shift and nudge notes)
Padbank E untill H gives the possibility when a Pad is pressed Direct event recording starts, so u can add short vocals, external synths, guitars, which can be mute and unmute via trackmute.... (perfect for this, for vocals and stuff i rather have full audio track)

Advanced live Mode :

When u touch the top of a Qlink and u hold it, for example i press qlink 3 and hold it, i go to the controls over track 3, i can now control the same effects as in normal live mode, but now i can use those effects over individual tracks....same for the effects on the pads

i hope my idea kinda came across...and that people can add and improve, and we might give akai sum inspiration....enabling ours, as our creativity and fun
in potential this could be a beast, not just in the studio but also live, could replace lots of gear, and create a new dimension in performance....
