This is what you need to do in order to use the MPC as a Midi Controller in PT 10 :mrgreen: (might be different for other versions but I doubt its much different) Also note: As of now the transport buttons on the MPC can't be assigned midi values so you'll have to choose other buttons on the hardware to assign your play/stop/rec/ff/rew functions. :| :roll: :cry:

:smoker: Ok..

Open ProTools > Open Session > Setup > Peripherals > Midi Controllers

-Type: Select "M-Audio Keyboard" from drop down menu
-Receive from: Mpc Renaissance Public
-Send to: Mpc Renaissance Public
-# of channels: 8

Open MPC software > preferences > Midi

Midi Out Port A: Mpc Renaissance Public

Now..

Enter Midi Controller Mode on the MPC software and enter these values where you'd like.....

Set these to Type: Momentary

Play= midi ch 16, cc# 117
Stop=midi ch16, cc#116
Rec= midi ch16, cc#118

Rewind= midi ch16, cc#114
Fast Forward=midi ch 16, cc#115

Mute selected track= midi ch 16, cc#12
Solo selected track-midi ch16, cc#13

(selected)track up= midi ch16, cc#10
(selected_track down=midi ch16, cc#11

(selected)Bank Up= midi ch 16, cc#14
(selected)Bank Down=midi ch 16, cc#15

Set these to Type: Absolute

Master Track Volume= midi ch16, cc#34
Track volumes 1-7= midi ch 16, cc#35-41

PANS: ????? still haven't figured these out, driving me up the wall so I said fckk it

Since Akai is in :fku: mode I went out and found a basic list of cc's for PT, it was a bit outdated and not 100% accurate so I had to play around with midi channels and CC's to figure out the right ones. I got the whole transport section, track and bank changes, mute, solo, master and track volumes. Only thing I couldn't figure out was the Pans. If anyone figures out the CC#'s/midi channels for the Pans 1-8 feel free to post your findings. I will try to figure those last ones out when I get a chance.

See how nice of a guy I can be? :-D
