Bug reports & end-user support for Akai's MPC Software 'controllers' including the new MPC Studio 2, the MPC Touch, MPC Renaissance & original MPC Studio and MPC StudioB lack.

Wassup Y'all,

I haven't been using my MPC Studio for a while because I was busy on the 2000XL, a few days ago I updated to 1.6, plugged my MPC Studio and the software didn't launch.

I called Akai and they told me to delete the MPC folder, reinstall the original drivers and software that came with the discs and then update to v 1.5

After all of this I tried again opening the software and it opened only after 3 minutes and the hardware remained frozen on the "MPC STUDIO" window.

I'm on a MacBook Pro Running OS 10.7.4, can anyone help?

Thanks

What version of MPC Software were you running before updating to version 1.6?

With version 1.5, there was a firmware update applied to the MPC controller, which failed and caused a lot of issues, for many users.

Maybe you hadn't updated the firmware previously, by installing either MPC Software 1.5 or 1.6, and it has failed and not updated the firmware correctly.

Did you notice any firmware update dialogs when you ran the MPC Software update?

Do any of the MPC pads light up when you plug it in and try to use it?

I think that with firmware update problems, some/all of the lower row of pads light up.

Hi Simon, thanks for replying.

Honestly I don't remember which version I was running before updating to 1.6.
Unfortunately there were no firmware update dialogs and no pads lit up.

I've now tried to install firmware update V 1.10 and I got a dialog saying that no midi devices are attached even though the mpc hardware is connected.

Could you please assist me further and suggest what to do?

Thank you

Daniele

Think I've intuitively solved the issue.

I had a similar problem with Serato and Rane Mixer TTM 57 not working, the tech guy @ Rane told me I had to go to HD>Library>Audio>Midi Drivers and remove the Digidesign Mbox mini 2 midi drivers (cuz I'm running protools on my computers).

I did the same thing and now both MPC Studio Hardware and software are working.

Hope this can help somebody else who had the same issue.

Peace

Yeah.. Protools(hardware) driver does weird shit to the core audio system.. I had a similar problem too.. With my fireface.. It happened when i installed a version of protools to use a mbox 2 and it screwed every other soundcard driver on my laptop..
When i uninstalled the mbox protools stuff everything worked again.....
