Mpc Ren - Sequence external synth in plugin mode

I'm trying to sequence my synth (jp8000) into the mpc ren in pro tools 10. I can sequence in standalone mode but once it's open in pro tools and the mpc software is used as a PLUGIN it's no longer possible.

I try to change the midi ins and outs but the only option is DAW which would be fine if I could sequence into the Ren with PT10 open.

If i'm not clear enough let me know.

You have to create a MIDI track in Pro Tools, set the input of that MIDI track to that MPC 'DAW' MIDI output (can't remember exactly what it is labelled as in Pro Tools), set the output of that MIDI track to the computer MIDI port that is connected to the synth, and then you might have to record enable the MIDI track so it passes MIDI through to the external MIDI port.

If you can't get it going, let me know, I'll give you some better instructions when I am at my Pro Tools system.
