Bug reports & end-user support for Akai's MPC Software 'controllers' including the new MPC Studio 2, the MPC Touch, MPC Renaissance & original MPC Studio and MPC StudioB lack.

sorry just airing my frustration at how crap the mpc ren plug in is.. littered with bugs , all I wanted to do was assign cut off to q link 1 and release to q link 2.

I managed the cut off but it wont let me assign any more things.. they they just don't work in plug in mode.. like a lot of functions....

Akai why ?

im not forced to use kontakt and the filters are crap!

This is such a frustration piece of kit, more so in plug in mode.

I agree, and the workflow process with The 809 is frustrating too. If try to change or EQ individual sounds, most of the time the entire program/ bank is effected by a change.

When I first heard about the software working in plugin mode, I was excited. Then I tried to use it, and it had a couple limitations that make it unusable for what I do. And every update has tended to the other core features that need to be there (and rightfully so). But no telling when plugin mode will get attention. We still need more than 16 virtual stereo outs for it be useful for anything other than 2 bar loops of kick, snare, hihat and a sample.

So, agreeing with you. It is a waste of time for what I do. But others may find it useful.

..and more than a single MIDI output port into the DAW, it needs 4 external MIDI outputs, so it can operate with external MIDI devices in the same way it does in standalone mode.

I'm on the verge of getting into kontakt ... So I just want to clarify, ... Do you mean to say the filters in kontakt sound bad?? Vs the ren?? ... and "Your not forced to use kontakt" wtf does that mean ...

Hows mapping kontakt to Ren btw... Fully mappable? ..runs smooth?
Thx!

Agreed.

I use the MPC, export the wav files, and then use the other DAW.

Plugin mode can take 5.

I feel you guys' pain.. more virtual outs would be heavenly... but i wont complain too much about that since 8 simultaneous stereo tracks out I'm currently getting is 6 more than 2...

If they add Rewire to MPC Software, it might work, but they haven't so far.

I would kill for 32 - 64 outputs, Or even multiple instances like Maschine, Maschine 2, and MPC Essentials.

I just wish the REN software or essentials would display the midi information within your DAW software of choice...The crazy part is... It'll do it from 3rd party midi controllers through the the REN software but won't do it from the MPC hardware itself... Which makes it useless for me as a plugin because I do most of my work within a DAW. Exporting to wav is kinda slow in my opinion. I didn't buy the MP to replace my DAW but to assist it and speed up work flow.. But hopefully they add it in this 1.7 update. Who knows.

Totally agree with this thread… I officially gave up a few months ago.

Occasionally come here to see if there are any news on 1.7…Still have a slim hope that it will make it worth keeping my MPC Studio..

If Essential could work as good as Battery 4, that would be amazing.

I'm hoping this... I use rearoute (on windows) and jack osx to have mpc soft in standalone mode connected to reaper like rewire.. Mpc is the master clock so you get the mpc work flow, but the mixing power of reaper(daw) ...

There's two ways i work...
Using reaper as just a mixer... Where i sequence in mpc soft... When i'm finished... i track out to reaper like a hardware mpc(with the limited 16outs) or just record the audio master live for the bounce...

The other way
I use the mpc mainly as just a sampler, and reaper as the arranger... I live play in the sequence as audio loops into reaper.. Just like a hardware mpc.. I find this much better than **** around with midi... This has unlimited separation/stems, because you can add another track using the same inputs..

For those that care and want to give it a go here's the thread...
