whats up board got a quick question to mp ren users. Is there some kind of trick to plugging in a 1/4 inch cable and unplugging it? I know it sound crazy but the mp can accept a 1/4 inch cable into the mic/line input to sample from external source right? Well I plugged in a cable correctly of course and the thing wouldn't come out...so I'm like ok let it ride you bugging that cable aint stuck come back to it this cable is not coming out of the input like its seriously locked in there so a lil tug i stop. Like no this cant be serious tug again no go...tug again with a lil force...and you know what happened cable snapped...so im confused was i not supposed to plug in a 1/4 inch cable into the mic/line input there is even a switch in the back that says this is this input and the cable wont come out like really stuck and yea its brand new out the box not even 5 days old i just hooked it up because ive spent the time getting my cpu setup and flawless to run it even get a new cpu with win 7 with 4gb ram just to run this thing i was on xp still lol it was working with the 2000 but yea am i tripping or anyone know what the **** happened? alll help appreciated please peace

With any cables, no matter what the type/use, you shouldn't be pulling on the cable to remove it, you should only pull on the connector/plug. Depending on how the cable is held into the connector/plug, you could be putting stress on the solder or other connections of the cable to the connector/plug terminals.

Try pulling on the connector/plug, maybe give it a twist as you are doing it.

It shouldn't really take that much force, so maybe something isn't right, but it should come out.

Some 1/4" jacks/sockets lock the connector/plug, and have a release tab/button that you have to press to unlock them when removing it, but I don't believe the Renaissance inputs have that.

sorry for the delay and thanks for the responses team. ive got protection on it and it seems to be a manufacturer issue as i have never seen a cable get stuck in an input. especially one that is supposed to be inserted. and actually it was the TRS that snapped and got stuck in the input cable is intact. ill get squared away though it was just the weirdest ish....had to make sure i wasnt tripping. but thx though ill be around in the ren sections peace
