Ok, I've recently made a jump from Cubase 5 to Reaper on Windows and was wondering if it was possible to automate the q links-set to control elements of fx inserts?

Normally within the MPC this is not possible. You can set up the qlinks to control inserts fx parameters but your movements can not be recorded within the software. However, I was thinking could this be possible within Reaper if you're playing the MPC as a vst plug in?

Does that make sense?

Is it possible?

How?

Help please :hmmm:

Awww man...thanks Dazastah for checking anyway. Hopefully, in the future this will change or be unecessary through upgraded functionality.

Well, full FX automation is planned for 1.7 so I guess I won't have to wait too long

I have another question for ya:

When I'm recording my track within Reaper how do I leave a section of silence at the beginning before audio kicks in???

At the moment when I hit play or record in Reaper the MPC starts playing straight away.

Daz has assisted in helping me with reaper as well.

I haven't really ran ren within reaper yet but if you mean a pre count. it's in the metronome button up top left (triangle). You want to leave it on but turn off the click while in play mode. And the seq will start recording where you have the curser at. So if you have the red curser/bar line what ever it's called on the second bar it will start your recording on that bar. But if you need the pre click count like me it's in that metronome button up top

Hey pk !! Sorry i haven't done that vid for ya, but the mac has been a little shitty for me. It's all good now.. I;ll try and show you that jack osx thing tonite.. At work atm!!

Regarding the preroll, reaper has pre roll count... (ie pre click for one bar. or you can actually pre count the track playback) I think the settings are in preferences..
Pk1 was right!! Right click the metronome button and it will bring up count in and pre roll..

It seems the only way around this was to insert a blank sequence into the start of your MPC seq which is easy enough [Just press seq edit and select insert blank bars (1)]

The options you suggested in Reaper never created a lead in space before the MPC started it would only pause before it would start playing or before it began recording but it would never start recording and leave a gap before starting the MPC.

I know that probably sounds quite convoluted and my original question wasn't clear enough, but simply inserting blank bars in the MPC did the trick.

Thanks for the help and I'm sure I'll be calling on you for more Reaper assistance.
