MPC Studio v1.6
Mac OS 10.8.2
Reaper v4.6

Using soundflower for multiple outs on the MPC software is it possible to MIDI sync the MPC Software with reaper for recording ?

Similar as MPC 2000xl with MIDI Sync so the software triggers the MPC ?

Tried multiple options, must be missing something small Im guessing.

Any help would be great, thanks.

via iac network midi.

Do you know how to create a virtual midi port in the iac app ?

once you create that virtual midi port, you use it in both apps.. (one has it as a midi out the other app has it as a midi in)

Yupp, easy as frightening a cat. Check Audio-MIDI-Setup in Utilities - open a Finder window, press CMD+Shift+U, double-click Audio-MIDI-Setup. If you only see audio devices, see the title bar for Window > Show MIDI window, and play around with IAC. You'll get the hang just by trying, I promise - at least if you're familiar with MIDI basics, but I might have guessed that from your handling the 2000... ;)

I just used MIDI for recording with the XL, all vinyl samples, Im getting into the 21st century now haha so Im trying to learn how to incorporate VST etc

OK, got that with the IAC, thanks.

I have :

reaper -- Preferences>Audio>MIDI Devices>MIDI Output IAC Enabled

MPC -- Preferences>MIDI>MIDI Input IAC Driver
and
Sync>Receive MTC to IAC Driver

Still isn't syncing, when I hit record reaper it doesn't start the MPC ?

Yep !!! Bill burr is awesome.. I'm working on some other stuff with his stuff.. That was just for the beat battle.. I just cut his stuff not really going into it too much as it was a battle. REdoing it so it's more "song" like !!

Check out this forum for reaper and mpc ren/software stuff..
