How do I get my MPC Ren to work in MainStage2 Loopback?

Hi, I'm looking for a way to link my MPC Renaissance up with MainStage 2, I want to use it with the Loopback function, but I'm having problems with it recording when i try to assign it, i can hear it play but it won't record, at the moment i have an EMU midi Keyboard connected to my Laptop along with my M-Audio interface, i'm using the latter to record vocals and guitar, but I'm also aware that the MPC Renaissance can be used as an AU, do i need an additional piece of hardware to achieve my goal? some please tell me how to get over this hurdle.
