Hi all!

I'm sorry if this topic has been brought up already or if there's an really easy solution but I've tried searching, looking in the manual etc and I guess I'm retarded or something.

I've connected my new Moog Sub Phatty to my mpc renaissance and now I'm trying to grasp how to use them together. The midi part works fine and I've also managed to send audio through the mpc to the monitors (yay ).

The problem is that sound only comes from the left speaker. It has been the same earlier when I sampled a TR-606 through it and also when I record vocals through a mic.

If I press shift + sample rec I guess it's supposed to look like this:

with the levels right/left all balanced and shit, but when I play the synth the left channels almost clips all the way while the right channels stays low.

Anyone got an idea what to do? :?

You problem is that you are recording mono sources, which are only 1 channel; left or right. So you need to set the MPC to record only from one channel in sample record. Otherwise it will record the audio from the synth or mic that is coming in on one channel, and record the silence that is present on the other channel.

How do I do that? I've tried changing the "MODE" to left, right and stereo. Doesn't seem to make any difference..

Change the mode to whatever channel you're recording through, then record your sound. Then when you play it back in sample edit, it will play from both speakers.

Hmm actually it seems to work when I set "MODE" to left. When I play there's just sound out of the left speaker but when I listen to the recording afterwards it's from both. So that'll work I guess...

But what if I want to play the synth "outside" of the Sample Rec section? Like if I use the MPC as sound card and want to record audio directly into logic? Because when I run MPC as a plugin in Logic the "Sample Rec" section doesn't seem to work (no signal in either left/right when I play).

Is that possible or am I better off just buying an external sound card and wire everything to that?
