Element/Essentials: Dead sample slots, some programs

Hi there,
New owner on Windows 7 Bootcamp. MPC Essentials is unlocked and the 3 sets of content is installed.

All the samples are there. You can play any of them in the sample edit.

In the programs however, some pads, showing samples loaded, play nothing.

And dragging any sound to these pads plays nothing.

Anybody seen this?

I think I may have a similar or the same problem.
I upgraded from 1.6 to 1.7 and when I did, a bunch of the tracks in my pre-existing programmes had just gone silent. The sample just won't play in the slot, in fact no sample will play in that slot, even though that slot works fine in other banks and other programmes. The sample itself plays in sample edit just fine.
Sounds like what you're going through?
If it is I've got no good news. I've started going through my progs, re-loading the sample into an empty slot, applying the effects again and just dragging the midi info from the now-dead track to the new track. Just ignoring this randomly silent slot. It's crap, but I've only got a few programmes.
I've not checked to make sure this won't be happening with altogether new programmes, man it better not.
If I figure anything out I'll bring it back here.
