How do you get the Ren to record/playback 12/8 time?

I changed the time signature (in the software) to 12/8 but when I go to record or playback it is clearly not in 12/8 time, has anyone gotten it to record/play in 12/8 time?
Also how do you change the time signature using the hardware?

Ok I see what's happening, the metronome doesn't automatically set to reflect the 12/8 time signature so I have to manually change the metronome from 1/4 note to 1/8 note.

and that kind of sucks that metro doesnt adjust automatically

I was making a Musiq SoulChild type of beat, he uses 12/8 time a lot on his songs.

dont know who that is.

It was just a throw away beat, I wasn't doing anything seriously.

Each time signature gives a different feel to the song and 12/8 (to me) makes a song sound a lot faster than if you were using 4/4 time. Try this, set the tempo to 60 bpm using 4/4 time and have the metronome active during playback and hit play, and now change the time signature to 12/8 and hit play and listen to how much faster it sounds.
It might be worth experimenting with different time signatures, you might create something truly unique.

thats why i get confused.
when i do 4/4 x 4 bar beat x 4= 16 bars..but doesnt seem like enough time for raps...maybe i just suck at math.
