Question about tracks

So now that there is the pad/key seperate mix feature, is there a point to 'tracking out' all your drums? Since you can control all the individual levels through the pad mixer

Sorry if that's a silly question, new to this workflow, just dont understand the point of using tracks.

i think its so you can mix your drums better.
but im not pro ;\

it makes it easier to add variation to sequences. if you have your hi hats on a different track to everything else, you can copy the sequence then record a new hi hat track over the old, make changes like that much easier.

Also, exporting individual tracks out for mixing always gives you the ability to adjust levels later on. more flexibility.

I use to do a level premix on the software and finish my mix(fx,etc) in reason usually.
If I want to use some plugins I use pro tools 11 or more lately reaper.

The drums seem to sound better when they all have their own track.

i dont know about that..
but at the end it all comes down to preference and mixing/mastering
