Hey all,

I was wondering if theres anybody here who is using the mpc studio in conjunction w/ live 9; what your workflow is like, if theres any glaring bugs/stability issues one should be aware of (also on mac OS X yosemite), etc.

Currently I make boom bap hip hop and sample-based house (a la Moodymann) using live and drum racks. I play the samples with a midi keyboard, but I'm really jonesing for a set of pads to play. I realize that I could buy any pad controller and call it a day, but I'm getting tired of auto-chopping and clicking around to set slice points in ableton. I'm interested in the mpc studio for chopping with the knobs and seeing the wav form on its screen... and also just to get a taste for the mpc workflow since I've always wanted one.

In this video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21hjIcL6ZcU?t=1m59s , MK throws a sample on a pad, sets a slice point, duplicates the sample from that slice point onto another pad and continues the process. Is something like this possible on the mpc studio?

Lastly, for those times that I want to work with live primarily, can the mpc studio act as a generic midi controller just to use the pads for drum racks?

helo sir

i got ableton live 9 but i havent used it yet..

i mainly use ableton for vocal tracks
but there is some crazy shit that i have seen you can do with mpc red/studio and ableton 9 live. i just havent tapped into it yet. so i cant answer on teh workflow.

but you can open up mpc software as plugin inside of 9 and in my opinion the workflow on ren/studio is pretty g00d.
so shit should be koshur
