Got the Renaissance all hooked up. Second day of using it, noticed sometimes when its turned on or if I switch from full level to half for the pad pressure the samples get distorted and sound like crap. I have to turn it off and restart software until it works. What gives?

I'm assuming it's the usb 3.0 problem.. But i dont know for sure, If someone else has the same macbook pro and a ren and confirms the same issue, then it's that.. I have the same problem but on a pc laptop...

Google how to run macbook pro retina ports as usb 2 mode... see if that will help..

I would have to agree with Daz. probably a usb issue. more then likely. since you just got that macbook. you shouldn't have to much stuff loaded. if i was you.....

i would wipe the mac of yosam and reinstall the prior osx. and make sure you get one of those usb ports to be 2.0

then do not upgrade back to the samity till your sure all the bugs are clear.
of course you just got your new toys. so this won't apply to you. but if you don't know for future. "DO not install a new os on a music computer until you are absolutely sure all is good. with your gear"

good luck.

I'm experience the same problem with the same computer.

Also having problem with some delay, and the count-in is only three "counts" from time to time.

But, sometime it works great!
I have a iMac as my "main" studio computer and just use the MacBook when I prefer to sit in the couch :) so I won't let it stand in my way right now

yes ive been having the same problem..
i cant find any info on changing USB3 to 2.. ?
but ive noticed that its is often caused when im making adjustments to my fx for my live set..( producing on a Mac Pro then send to MBP for shows)
Airport can potentially cause issues like this it seems so i switch it off when practicing & playing..
hoping its just a Yosimite thing.. cant be bothered going back in OS or figuring out how too..
just riding it at the moment & making sure my sound is sorted for live shows so i dont have to make adjustments that set it off!
if you hear anything that works pls let me know.. :worthy:

I sat on hold for 45 min with akai. Dude said try a differenr usb cord or adjust you buffer. Seems if I adjust the buffer it works for a bit then back to junk. What buffer rate do you guys have it set at? Almost renders this thing useless.
