MPC Ren driver issues....

OK, so just picked up the Ren and having issues with setting up.

Here is my system:

Windows 7
Service Pack 1
AMD Phenom 9950 Quad-Core 2.60 Ghz
4 GB Ram
64 bit Op System
M-Audio 24/96 card M-Audio ASIO Driver

Issue:

Have loaded the driver and the software with no issues as far as I can tell. When I load up the software the first issue to arise is the "the drive is not ready for use; its door may be open. Please check drive A: and make sure that a disk is inserted and the drive door is closed."

I turn off the MPC at this point and hit cancel like about 7 or 8 times and the software loads up. Once this happens if I turn my MPC back on it has the message "MPC has stopped working" and closes down the software. I BRIEFLY got the pads to light up when I switched the ASIO driver quickly while turning it on to the Ren ASIO. Anything else and it simply shuts down the program.

It SEEMS like it may be conflicting audio drivers but I am not certain. Anyone have any insight on how to figure this out?? This is the same PC that I record with so I want to make sure that I can still use my ASIO M-Audio 24/96 driver for recording and mixing but use the Ren ASIO for beatmaking....

I am semi-intelligent with this stuff but no expert.

The A: drive error message is possibly because one or more of the 5 shortcut folders in the MPC Software browser section, on the left side of the MPC Software screen, might be set to A:, and you might not have a floppy drive.

If you can get into the software, check the 5 shortcut folder buttons to see which are set to A:, browse to a different folder, just below those 5 shortcut folder buttons, choose an existing folder on your hard drive, then shift-click with the mouse on the folder which is set to A: to change them to the newly selected folder.

Why are you turning off the MPC, does it work if you leave the MPC turned on?

Are you running the latest version of MPC Software?

Yes, this is the reason for the drive error. I had read that before. I have successfully changed all the other folders (each one was loading the A:) EXCEPT for the first folder. It STILl won't change. I have tried shift click, right click when I have another folder open in the drop down menu etc...

As for the software, it would shut down immediately if I turned the MPC hardware on. For this reason I left it off and downloaded the new software and driver update. Now it is working from what I can tell. Only thing is that every time I open it Folder 1 continues to actually force load the A: and it is driving me nuts!!

I have to restart now and see if the firmware has been loaded properly onto the MPC but if you or anyone else knows another way to ensure that the Folder 1 STAYS at the root that I choose, please lemme know.

Slowly getting there.

Ok so the folders needed to be set using F1 function on the hardware. So that has been fixed as an issue and now the firmware update isn't working properly but once that is done I am good to go. Will do some research tonight and get it sorted. Thanks for the help.
