how to loop a sample?

hey, im new to this and i just sampled my first song. now that ive sampled this i want it to play in the background of my beat through out the whole song. how can i do this? thanks for your help.

Some Basics Looping tips:

1. Practice working with small with loops: preferably with a 1 bar or 2 bar loops This allow you to get the hang of working with loops. *The more bars in the sample the more likely the loop is to drift if the sample was played by live musicians back in the day.

2. Truncate the sample: Edit the start and end points of the sample loop to allow the loop to play a continuous loop. Hence the name Loop.

3. Find the loop tempo: Find the original tempo of the loop if it matches the tempo in your beat then you are good to go. If not you have the options to Transpose the sample loop up or down. You can also choose pitch shift or time stretch.

4. If the loop sampled has drums: when the sample has drums in the loop you can use Filters or Eqing to tweak the drum sounds if needed. You can also layer your drums over top of the looped sampled drums. To do so make sure you turn quantize off on your sampler to allow you to match your drums with the drums in the loop.

As with all things, there are different ways to achieve anything with the MPC, but with a simple looped sample (assuming you have adjusted the loop properly on the trim screen, you can stretch the sample (either affecting pitch, or 'time-stretching') to fit the required bar(s) length, from the chop screen save as a sequence and then manually adjust the slices or alternatively enter the chop screen, adjust the chop-lines to fit the required sample and then save as a patched-phrase sample, which will give you a new sample which will automatically adjust to your song tempo.
