Mpc Ren sequencing external hardware

Hi guys, im using a 2000xl rt now mostly to sequence my s900, eps16 and my virus ti2. Was thinking about getting the ren to replace the xl. How is it for sequencing external hardware?

It works pretty well. I use it with a triton, Proteus 2000, and Xtreme lead -turbo (XL-1) and everything is good. I don't remember the functionality of the MPC 2000 I only owned one for a short time but with the Ren you set/save program changes which is useful for when you turn everything off and revisit your songs the next day. I owned a MPC 4000 a few years back and one feature that is missing from the Ren that the 4K had is system exclusive record/playback - which made setting program changes unnecessary because with sysex. you would record the state of your hardware synth (like a snapshot) and later to restore the synth snapshot settings you would simply playback the sysex. information and everything is set. All in all it handles hardware synths very well, you won't be disappointed.
