The old FAQ on the Akai site stated 4 auths, but that FAQ is gone and the new one doesn't mention anything at all.
The info is in the installer, you know that bit where you say you agree with the license that in reality no one ever reads

1.1. Device license. You may install one copy of the software on one hardware device for your internal business use or your own personal enjoyment. The software may only be used by one person at time, unless you have purchased licenses for additional users.
As you can see, that doesn't mention any limit on authorizations, but IMO it's still open to interpretation - does it mean that you are fine performing as many installs on as many machines as you wish as long as you only ever have it installed on one piece of hardware at any point in time?
Are you allowed to install the MPC Software on your desktop and laptop simultaneously, or are you expected to buy an additional license to run it on two machines (even though it's for the same end user)?
Reality is we've yet to hear of anyone having problems, and it seems Akai will just reset your account if you do somehow exceed any (unmentioned) auth limit
