UPDATE: OK so I guess disregard the post as I clearly jumped the gun. until further research the song worked fine....right until I tried to seq another beat with different tempos in each sequence. Locks all tempos to 1!!!! WTFF very bad!!! So will be giving Akai a call back and this time I wont be so nice about it. If anyone knows the true value of the 1.8.1 update please school me or point me in the right direction. Kicking myself for real shoulda just went got the 2500 and some rack modules. FOH Renaissance. Gonna contact mpcstuff tommorrow and see if I can get a trade for an xl or 2500. Offically done with the Ren.
Whats up board back on again not sure if this has been posted if so forgive. Updated to 1.8 after the wait thought we had something solid.....NOPE damn thing changes seqs in song mode past 12 seqs. So that stopped workflow immediately wtf?!? Came on here couldnt find anything or on google. So called Akai support and let em have it. Well found out that....
1. Your Ren software/cpu needs to be connected to internet.
2. Go to Help and select check for updates
3. It will give you the option to download 1.8.1.
4. Its only available through this method, it cannot be found on akaipro.com
Probably sure someone may have downloaded it and theres a zip floating around to get around them steps but in case not this is the deal. Josh from Akai let me know this version will fix the song mode issues and other bugs from 1.8 and the new features are still the same. This version will fix only the bugs and stability.
Hopefully they will continue improve and soon we will have a rock solid machine bc I told them I coulda bought a damn 2500/5000 hell even a couple used xl or 2ks for what I paid for this glorified midi controller. Hell 400 more dollars coulda got the 3000LE Lets get it working Akai. But they was mad cool about it. Also told em GC keep trying to push that damn NI maschine on me and I dont want that junk lmao so fix it!!!! I been down since Roger Linn I dont wanna change!!! My bad on the mini rant but yea this should fix the issue. Peace and keep banging out the hits yall!!!
PS is it just me or does anyone else feel like HAD Roger Linn still been involved we wouldnt have these so so machines. Bc for as limited as the older ones were, I NEVER had any issues on HIS designs lmao
