Hi there, just joined the forum as I really need some help. I only got an MPC about a week and a half ago (with no prior music experience whatsoever). I have honestly picked it up quite fast, and have now decided to try plugins.

I have recently downloaded Kontakt 5 and installed it with the standalone and VST version. Now when I go on to Edit> Preferences> Plugins> Rescan All/ Scan New in the MPC software, it crashes and says "MPC has stopped working".
I have tried this in both 64-bit and 32-bit program, but the exact same happens.

I have done a quick Google search and most people haven't had this problem since an update (1.4 I think?)

I'm using an MPC Studio, MPK25, and a Surface Pro 3 with these specs:
Windows 8.1 Pro (64-bit)
8GB RAM
Intel(R) Core i5-4300U

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Thanks blackeye, but I have actually found a solution. It's a scaling problem in Windows 8.1. I will post how to fix it below for anyone that happens to come across a similar problem.

To fix:
Go to Control Panel.
>Appearance and Personalization
>Display
Change the slider under the title "Change the size of all items" Completely to the left (small)
Click apply
Log out
Log in
Load up MPC and scan.
