MPC Installer "not responding"

I'm needing some help...I have an Hp Laptop 8gig, 64 bit running Windows 8..I cannot install the hardware on my computer..I've disabled Windows defender and still nothing! I never had these problems with my old Windows 7..please help me! I'm going crazy!! The hardware driver is for the Mpc Renaissance. .

Please give a step-by-step detailing the exact procedure you are following, maybe someone can spot the point where the problem is.

are you able to install other software or drivers ?

I tried installing the first disc.. the screen came up to install.. I clicked on the mpc icon to upload the drivers.. then all I get is Mpc Installer not responding. . I have been able to upload in the past from itunes, Serato dj etc.. I'm not sure what's up.. I called Akai.. they said to register the Mpc then upload from online but all I see online are firmware updates that will do me no good if I can't even install the drivers..
