Are you wanting to use the MPC Software without a Ren or Studio? Yes that's always been possible, but only once you've activated the software using the hardware. Once your installation has been initially activated you can run the software on its own whenever you wish, no hardware needed.

However, you cannot buy nor activate the software alone, this is currently a complete hardware+software system, just like Maschine.

Yes you can use just the software but where is the fun in that. may as well have just bought any DAW on the market.

When I first got my MPC i had to learn the software part first. after I was a couple beats deep, I tried to do everything on the Hardware so I could work with either and get more familiar to how it all works. first MPC and I love it
