Bug reports & end-user support for Akai's MPC Software 'controllers' including the new MPC Studio 2, the MPC Touch, MPC Renaissance & original MPC Studio and MPC StudioB lack.

Hello,

I have to revisit a problem I posted about before. I never got a resolution or fix to this and I really need to resolve this now more than ever since I have a Ren & Studio both.

I have my main studio computer set up with 2 hard drives. The first is a small SSD for the OS and software. The second hard drive is larger and has all my plugins and sample library on it.

I have all the Factory MPC Content which is the MPC Loop and Drum content, Free Trap Drums & Deep House Drums expansions and of course The Noise, The Wub, The Bank & The809 and Hybrid (which I do not know where it lives). All of this content takes up a lot of space so I need to off load it and put it on the second drive.

How can I do this and have the MPC Software recognize it and find the data.

I have tried the advice of changing the pointer file in Program Data hidden directory but this does not do it. There many other folders there in that location and there is other files in the installation folder that must be dealt with to make this work. Simply moving the content breaks everything.

There must be a method. The programmers must have a way to do this. In future they should have a method to set the location for all types of content. I surely cannot be the only person who runs their studio system with 2 drives..... I have to great machines on my desk with all this content and cannot use them properly.

I need help please. This is perhaps a rare request but it is not an abnormal request. This is 2015 and software design should allow for such flexibility.

What are you doing to deal with it and have you found a work around?

Out of curiosity what is your number 1 issue?

I just bought a bigger ssd and cloned my main drive. On Mac I think you can move them and make reference to it, it may be called symbolic links or something like that.

Number one issue is not having a one shot option in pad loop mode. They added one shot mode in every option except pad loop.

Similar issue here...

Installing for the first time and the setup disc kindly asks if I would like to install the bank to a different directory. So I setup an MPC content folder on my second hard SSD, then when I installed the other discs, there is no option to select the directory and it installed it the the system drive anyway.

Its not good practice to install .wav files to the system drives as you dont want your DAW scanning this for music files, now reading this thread I realise moving the bank wont be easy.

Would also like a fix or some instruction on how to do this... I'm lucky in the respect I still have 13 days left to return it!

Thanks
