What is the difference between ren and all other mpc?

I am new to this and trying to see what the difference is between the ren and all other mpc's.So is the ren the same as mpc 1000 to 5000 except it needs to be connect to pc to work with mpc software?I am seeing great deals now on the ren as prices have lowered before the new one comes out and i would like to get one.I know it has a built in audio interface so i can run everything threw it and then into my pc but can it do everything alll the other stand alone mpcs can?For example can the ren do everything the mpc 4000 can but it needs a pc?I am not trying to find out which one is better, i am trying to find out the differences?i work on pc with music and the ren i think is my choice.

Sounds like the ren is already your choice. You can't go wrong with a a 1000 or 25000 with JJOS (and added expense), If you go the standalone route are you willing to track out audio from the machine into your pc?

I don't think you can compare the Ren to the MPC4000 as the 4000 was so unique, it was built upon a z-series sampler OS and has a significantly more advanced sampler than any MPC. The Ren really just started out being built on the MPC5000 specs but has progressed rapidly over the years, but is a completely different beast to the 4000 and there's still plenty of things the 4000 can do that the Ren cannot, and of course, vice versa.

What is your budget? Also what have you used in the past for making music?

To find out what each MPC does you'll have to look up the specs on the Akaipro.com and read the manuals, read some reviews etc. All that info is out there, you just need to put the time in. As for style of music, there's no limit in that respect, people have been making hugely varied types of electronic music with MPCs, mostly hip hop of course, but you could certainly make house, and many do.

I havent used anything for standalone in the past.My budget is say 1500 for the right machine that i will use for years to come that will do the job right.

Yes, i will research ech mpc model and put the time in to see which one is best suited for me.
