Ok, probably a really basic question but a situation arose last week which I struggled with and was only able to resolve by destroying my workflow completely.
Lets say I have a song with multiple sequences, which contain broadly the same set of track data with small variations. I also have a VST Glitch effect which I want to apply (with various settings) onto individual tracks for certain sequences only, and also would like to apply the effects across ALL tracks/programs within a sequence (for lets say, a vinyl stop effect in a drop).
The only way I could do it was to clone the program for my chosen track and add to a new track, then add the effect in and mute the original track. Seems a bit fiddly but hey ho. But that presumably means that to apply a master effect across ALL tracks, you will need to duplicate/clone ALL programs/tracks.
I thought adding the master effect and then automating would work (only turning up for the desired sequence) but that seemed to cause all sorts of problems with the glitch timing (which may be the VST software at fault of course).
Am I missing something somewhere? It ended up taking twice as long to add the effects as it did to make the beat so I suspect I am!
