It's weird, El Capitan had pre-releases out for about 5 months. They could have cooked up a driver already. So it is for other companies.

Akai is such a wack company. Problems with software all the time, driver issues, plugin issues. They've had plenty of time and hired enough coders to take care of this a long time ago.

Akai does not make the driver for the hardware. It's made by Plyotech. So we are all at the mercy of Plyotech. Until then, you should not be upgrading your OS or buying a new Mac for use with MPC until it's qualified. If you upgrade the OS and your shit don't work it's no ones fault but your own.

Quick update my Ren is working great on El Captain although there's been no driver update I found that my problem was that my Rens power adapter came out somehow lol. Now back to the music!

Hellfire... El captain was pushed out a while now.. It's an Akai product so they should ensure it remains stable despite who makes the driver. So we need to hold them accountable as the consumer to get the drivers out just as most other companies have already done. Shit I had new drivers some low budget stuff a week after OS X 10.11 became beta. Akai needs new management...

This all reminds me of waiting for OS 2.0 for the MPC1000, except the update for the Ren is more crucial.

This isn't an akai issue, as serato is also not working with the new OS.

Put the pitchforks down and be patient. Don't know why the hell anyone would upgrade the OS of a music making machine w/o checking compatibility FIRST. Rookie moves.

What up HF. Yo, your ren video tuts are necessary. Big ups on all the work you're putting in!

Absolutely right! Lots of manufacturers have even issued a warning not to upgrade to 10.11 (for example Novation, Reloop, NI,...). And in my opinion it's an unwritten rule to only update after a certain period when one can be sure not to encounter too many problems anymore.

I installed El Cap on my Mac Book, to test first.

My Novation AU's work just fine. Arturia doesn't work, as they recommend not to upgrade. I yet have to test the Korg legacy pack. So as for now on my MB I work with Logic X.

Ps, beta releases have been out for many months, for developers, they should have solved it already. Apple even has a Alpha team to help out, when technical difficulties like this occur.

NEVER update your OS unless you know there's updates for that OS for the software you use. Especially with Akai MPC software.
