Does MPC Ren allow for Midi Control via USB?

This morning I tried setting up my Faderfox PC4 controller to control a vsti within the Ren.

Now the Ren sees the faderfox controller in list of midi inputs but won't allow me to tick (select) the box next to it.

Controlling the vsti with my midi keyboard however is not a problem.

This make me wonder if the Ren can only be controlled by a deviced connected into its midi inputs but not its USB inputs?

I connected a novation xstation via the usb ports on the ren, and that worked... IT may be a issue with the faderfox not wanting to be plugged into a usb hub.
