How do you back up your MPC files?

I am searching for the most effective method of saving my .xpj files and project data folders for tracks I've saved using MPC software.

.xpj tracks are not playable on their own and iCloud does not allow for the downloading of folders, making project data folders inaccessible. I need to be able to store my tracks in iCloud so that they're able to be downloaded and functional on a different computer.

After using MPC software for about 1.5 years now, my understanding is MPC software projects are typically formatted in two separate formats, .xpj files and project data folders. An .xpj file cannot play on its own, nor can a project data folder...both are required for the project to open.

So if any of you could discuss how you back up your files, or give me advice, it'd be a big help.

The XPJ is the project, it also saves a copy of all the sounds used in the session in another folder, whcih is why you may notice for example a track name "Hip hop beat" saved twice, one in a folder and one as a file.

To be able to play your tracks outside of the mpc, you need to export the session and mixdown to wav or mp3 file

This may seem dumb in times of iCloud and Dropbox , but I usually backup my projects regularly on a USB stick.

I consider Dropbox or Google Drive proper solutions. Just install them on various machines and you can even work on your laptop while on the road, and your project keeps up to date.

Plus: There's always a cloud backup. Nevertheless, I always make hard copies on a USB drive and/or Time Machine.
