ren and studio came with a 9GB+ sound library, including 4 mpc expansions, right?
so how is that package compared to the new one...

will i be able to use all of the new content in conjunction with the “old” mpc software?

My guess would be it is not really compatible as we learned that the software versions for the Ren and Touch are different. And if I cannot install the Touch software to use with the Ren, I cannot access the extra content neither. Does this make sense or have I overlooked something?
If the above is correct, Akai would have to offer Ren users the content via a Ren software update. I don't believe they would though.

TBH, after one Akai source initially claimed the Ren had a 'hardware-based' vintage mode at NAMM, I'd be inclined to wait until the Touch is in our hands before we take anything as gospel.
