Crash On Exit

Hey y'all,

Just wondering if anyone had a fix suggestion for my constant crash on exit error with my Studio running the latest software and windows 8 and 64 bit version.

What makes this strange is that it only happens on this laptop but not on my my macbook pro or studio desktop running win 7.

First thing that comes to my mind is the win 8 OS and or bad plugins. Took most out and still had same problem.

Just throwing this out there. Any ideas, please share.

I had the same problem. I'm on Macbook Pro 10.9 by the way. I could work for hours on a project without any problem, but upon exiting the software, loading another project or even starting a new one, I would get the "computer stopped communicating" message. After checking and re-checking I found it was a plugin's fault. Whenever I loaded that specific plugin (just loading it, even without doing anything with it), the Ren would crash upon exiting. The plugin was Bass Engine by Dope VST. I contacted them and they told me I was the first one complaining about that behaviour and they couldn't give me a solution. Questions posted on the Akai forum did not bring any solution either. Then I tried using the AU version of the plugin and all of a sudden no more crahes. So, if you got the chance to try different versions, try that maybe. I know, not the biggest help, but at least a kind of workaround. Anybody else with similar problems?

Is your computer is going into sleep mode? This will cause you to lose communication to the controller and maybe crash MPC.

Good to know, bass engine was my next purchase. I'll try the demo on my Win 10 machine.

No it is not going go sleep. Good idea tho.

I think you are right I'll have to try to go though each plug inh again.

The problem also happens on my win 7 machine too now..... Both 64bit.

If on a Mac, try deactivating App Nap.
