Hi Guys!

So I have a sequence with 2 long sax samples and I have it on mono so they cut each other off so it doesn't play the whole sample when I am in the sequence. When I mute the track with the sax samples however the rest of the loop is triggered even after the track is muted. I even tried to add an hit of an empty pad to cut off the loop at the end of the sequence to no avail. Obviously I could trim the sample to it was just the hit and not the whole sample but in other parts of the song I do use the whole loop and would rather not have to copy the loop and rechop each one separately. I hope this makes sense to you guys. I remember this issue with the 2000xl and was hoping there was a work around with the ren.

Thanks in advance!! :worthy:

basically how do you get a long sample to stop playing when you mute the track? The sample is cut off by the other sample but when I mute the track no other sample plays so it does not cut off the long sample and it plays the whole sample and I want to know if there is a way to stop the long sample when I mute the track?

Don't use the mute track feature.

Use a dummy pad to stop the other sample. Record those dummy pad midi events to stop your sample.

A dummy pad is an assigned pad with a sound that is turned all the way down.

So put it in a mute group?

There is no other way around this when using the mute feature?

Turn the long sample to a Rex file and it will cut off when you mute and will start when unmuted.

as Dustymaestro says.....the easiest way is to use the pad off feature......get a pad to cut off the sample and turn the volume on that pad to zero....

Its in "program edit" in the "master" menu use "mute target".

That Rex thing is interesting. Wait a minute lemme check if Wavelab saves to Rex.

If the Rex thing works Akai should implement that.
