MPC Studio: Connection to an audio interface

Greetings and happy holidays!

I'm a guitarist and new to the whole sampler/controller game. I'm seriously considering buying a MPC Studio, not only for backing drum beats for my guitar playing, but also for complete hip-hop/trap productions.

I've been using a Focusrite 2i2 audio interface with no issues at all for about a year now. What kind of cable connection would I have to make between the MPC and the 2i2, since the MPC has a 3.5mm output jack? Note that I want to use the Focusrite because my PC's soundboard is as generic as it goes (latency is a big issue) and that it has two XLR/1/4" inputs.

You don't make a connection between the MPC Studio and your interface, you connect the MPC to your computer via USB and connect your interface to your computer as you currently do. Then in the MPC software you set up the audio preferences to use the Focusrite for incoming and outgoing audio. The MPC Software can use any audio device as long as it's already installed in your computer.

I get it now, I figured since the MPC is not a "real" MIDI controller, the audio interface had to receive a signal from it like any other instrument. Now I know what I have to do, thanks a bunch!
