Steinberg VST compatibility?

Hey guys. New to the VST world. I always just sampled records and made that organic hip hop. I wanted to start branching out for a different style and pick up a few VSTs. I wanted to know if the Steinberg Dark Planet VST is compatible with the MPC Software (i have he Ren on 1.9.1), If so, is there a tutorial someone can link or just tell me bluntly how to load a VST you download. I also happen to have Pro Tools, would there be a way to load up Xpand2 and etc that come with Pro Tools? I get distracted easily from DAWs so I would like to be able to strictly work on the MP. Thanks

I wouldnt be the right person to help you out, dont use this feature much, but here goes
On a new track, by default is set to drums, meaning samples, you have to change that to instrument, a new dropdown box will show up from where you can select your vst.
Check the manual bro, everythings there. Peaz

Anyone can be the right person to help. Thank you for your efforts man. Not what I was looking for but I still appreciate it. I guess I'll just sample output audio from VSTs in other DAWs back into the REN, on some dumb shit. Work that way til the Renaissance 4 drops so that my VSTs DO show up when I tick the box like I'm supposed to and designate the file path location to find the VSTs in the Plugins settings from Preferences. But hey I'll just make Grand Slams with "The Bank" and the 8-bit nintendo sounds

For Xpand, you have have to buy the crossgrade to use the VST in MPC Software. Pro tools does not include that VST version. XPAND 2 VST is on sale alot for $49.

You can use virtual midi cables to trigger XPAND while running in pro tools, but that becomes a headache while trying to keep things organized.
As for Dark Planet, i'm downloading the demo now to test the install.

Works on my end with Windows 7 and 64 Bit plugin. Have you tried to reinstall it and make sure the 64 bit version is selected.

The demo's on Steinberg's site sound meh, but man using it actually hands on it's great.


Also since you are using a MAC it says

VST 3 or AU host required . I don't think the MPC can host VST3, i'm not sure.
