MPC Studio Black (MK2) release date????

Anyone have a clue???? Heard end of March, but still nothing yet???? Really looking forward to it. Been debating between the Studio Black and the Touch for a few months now. Any suggestions???

Can't even find it for preorder, a lot of major sites have the Silver Studio on back order also.

It's not the end of March yet. I'm waiting on it too. checking for it every day and will buy it as soon as it drops.

One of the biggest sites in Germany (Thomann) has an approximate delivery date which would be April 8th. Seems to be an estimated date though.

juno.uk has the manual pdf file available, and it clearly says studio black. according to that site it says lines open in 7 hours, but im not exactly sure what that means....

As I guess, I'd say it was purely down to aesthetics; they wanted a very thin, flat unit. I guess no one actually thought/cared about the practicalities of trying to control parameters with those dials. At least they care now, 4 years later

Will the mpc soft v2 be availlable also on april 8th?

Discerning from these pictures alone, Akai really seem to have nailed it with this new black layout and larger dials. Plus the portability is incredible even when you factor in an external audio interface.

For travel and playing live it fits the bill perfectly.

I believe Akai have made it clear that the release of the MPC Studio 2 and MPC Software 2 are two non-dependent events. It's also fairly clear from the NAMM interviews that MPC Software 2.0 is not happening any time soon. So an april release is incredibly unlikely, I think we're looking at something much, much later in the year.

I thought it was the end of March.

MPC Studio Black is end of March (originally)
Version 2.0 release date is unknown.
