Using MPC Software

You have to get one of the controllers to unlock the software, but how do I open an MPC 4000 project in it? Is it just something you're able to do once you have the software and the controller? Has anyone had any experience opening an MPC 4000 project on MPC Software?

Just load the MPC4000 files from the browser. Some files are not supported, AKP loads fine. I think ALL should work as well, maybe APS.

so all the patterns and sounds will be loaded exactly as they do in the mpc, in the daw?

Not perfectly no, you'll have to tweak the programs as the MPC Software has different filters, effects, lfo and envelopes, plus the 4000 has many additional settings not supported by the MPC Software.

I do all the time. Its not perfect you have to adjust a few things. Ill add to it though, the swing and feel of the sequencer is different. The difference has sometimes worked for the better, sometimes it got worse.

So as far as sequencing and sound loading how is it? Never mind filters and effects. When I load a project what is supposed to happen?

You have to adjust the track to make sure it is assigned to the right program.

Just press play and go from there.
