MPC Studio Black - Price increase

Hey all

Back in March, I ordered the MPC studio silver and paid £279 for it... Then I got an e-mail saying that Akai had discontinued the silver studios and they were awaiting the new MPC studio black which they'd have in stock in about 6 weeks time.... They offered me a refund or said if I want to wait I could have the MPC studio black without having to pay any extra, as they were charging £299 for the studio blacks then...

So I got my MPC studio black for £279 which I was pretty happy with.... then 2 days ago, I was on andertons.co.uk and I saw that the price for the studio black had gone up in price to £329.99!

Why put it up an extra 30 quid ?? Every site is now selling them for £329.99...

So I def got a bargain getting mine for £279.99....

Anyone know why Akai have increased the price on the blacks?

this relate to manufacture costs going up; ur in the UK u see all the talk of inflation; so this the same thing.

dis shit happened with the MPC touch also; this happened with the Yamaha Reface also.

but that £20 quid aint the end of the world.

Akai's UK pricing has risen since Brexit as the exchange rate between the £ and $ has changed dramatically. This was predicted as one of the consequences of us leaving the EU, basically any imported goods are going to be more expensive (most import/export is done in $). Expect to see this occur across the board on everything (and we haven't even left yet). If you've been reading the news, you'll see even mundane stuff like Marmite has risen in price dramatically.

the price rise of the Touch was before brexit; lets be clear, remain voters wanna blame everything bad on brexit to justify they position; I aint saying thats u tutor but, lotta peeps is equating everything bad to brexit.

also bare in mind the weak pound will will boost international business and trade; as it cost less for international companies to do business in the UK, we are told that there is an inverse relation between the currency and the business index equities, hence the high FTSE 100 index.

but as mentioned component costs in the far east are often to blame for boosting manufacturing costs; as it costs more for Akai to pay the far eastern manufactures to make the products according to their spec.
