External Sampling Does NOT work on the MPC Touch

External Sampling Does not work on my MPC Touch. Attempted to hook up several external devices to the External L+R inputs selected the correct settings and nothing will sample from an external source. I am a computer/audio junky lol and been doing this stuff for alot of years, however I thought it had to have been something I was doing wrong. I researched and watched EVERY SINGLE Video on external sampling {videos on akai site as well as youtube and even read in the Touch Bible book thats out} I have EVERYTHING setup correctly. It will pick up nothing thats plugged in external. Stereo or mono. left or right .Nothing.

any ideas im losing my freakin mind

Only bought this is July, and up until recently I have not attempted to use the sampler thats why I have uncovered this until now.

On the touch screen, when in sample mode, are you sure the input isn't set to "Resample"?

I ran into this once or twice. Just a brain fart.

honestly what would my video show i know everything is hooked up correctly. I'll walk you through 1 of 2 Examples of how i'm trying to sample right now and how it is setup. MS Surface Pro i'm trying to sample something from (Note: this is not the machine that the touch is hooked up to, just so you know. The Touch is installed to a completely different machine.) Out of the headphone jack of the Surface I have a standard 3ft length adapter that is 1/8' headphone jack that splits out to (2) 1/4' jacks that i plug into the Input(not output, not midi in/out) on the back of the touch.
I open up the sampler program on the Touch. I select External L+R stereo (honestly it doesnt matter what i select here as in trouble shooting i tried everything and nothing works) however thats what i select to sample. I adjust the treshold to about -12db and hit arm i hit play on what im trying to sample on the surface. I get nothing. I get no sound when I turn on the monitor on the touch. nothing.

touch was bought brand new, about 3 months ago. been learning everything about it now im here. ive watched like every youtube video read the touch bible thinking im doing something wrong. honestly feel like its the device now.

please please help me lol

FIGURED IT OUT!!!!! YEY something i read someplace else made me try something.


Kind of a dumbass overlook. the mpc software audio input is by default selected to run through my presonus audiobox. not thinking about the software itself when i was trying to sample. changed input to TOUCH and we are good.

Stupid question, do you have MPC Touch selected in

EDIT Menue----> AUDIO---->AUDIO DEVICE----->SELECT AISO------> Device Tab then MPC Touch

I was able to Sample my Ipod just now doing that.

Hi, I am new to the touch so stil struggling a bit. But I saw this post and same thing happens to me. But I figured it out as well, the setting was set to the audio interface.

But when I resolved that issue I was able to sample but (a lot of but’s) the sample sound terrible. It was really destorded ? I am guessing it is a software/driver issue but I do not know a lot about those things...
Does anybody have an idea, what could be the issue? Or am I doing something else wrong?
