MPC Touch screen lag with iMac 2016

Basically, I've got a top-of-the-line iMac with El Capitan with a lot of power.
MPC Touch screen operation has always been slow in terms of switching from a view to another in the Touch.

E.g., I hit MENU, and it probably takes at least half a second for Touch to react to it.
This is the same for any screen I enter.

This happens with an empty project with no sounds or plugins, so it's not about power.

I've been waiting for the 2.0 to come and hopefully fix this but just really wanted to ask ya'll if anyone's experiencing this...it's really getting annoying now.

The lag is way smaller with my MBP from 2011. Go figure.

Can you check other USB ports? It's pretty instantaneous on a old Windows 10 PC build over here.

I messed with the very few OS X settings that had to do with the external display (i.e., the Touch) and that fixed it; basically I messed with them and restored them back to where they were.
