What's up people, very excited to be here, i was here in the early 2000's when i had my mpc 1000 and mpc 2000xl. been making beats since 1994, with a few breaks here and there. I own a recording studio, shoot and edit videos as well. i've had the mpc 2000xl for many years, and recently felt like it was time to upgrade, even though it has a card reader, i still had a tough time creating the sound library i wanted. a few weeks ago my good friend (also a producer) bought the mpc studio black, and i went to check it out, and sure enough I WAS FLOORED by the workflow, the software, how easy of a learning curve it was for me (i was making beats after playing with it for 30 minutes) Akai has really knocked it out of the park, this has been my first look into the new mpc's. being that i've been collecting vinyl for the past 3 years or so, it was only right that i get a new toy for christmas. instead of the studio i went to the touch, even though the studio is amazing. right now i'm looking into getting the right laptop or desktop for it, currently running it into a cheap laptop. :smoker: :smoker: :smoker:

based on a high price, and being stand-alone isn't something i'm looking for, i actually like the ability to use both software and hardware (controller)

Well, I'm also planning to grab MPC Touch and I'm waiting for NAMM. It's tough, but it's correct thing to do. Don't think you need it ASAP, since you are making beats for years and yes I also don't think I'm gonna be grabbing Live or X over Touch. I know I'm gonna benefit from this machine, but there is nothing on it that can't be done elsewhere. For me it just seems like a really FUN tool to make music with and Jan 20 I'm gonna get ya :)
