Yea I seem to have "writers block" right now. Maybe it's because I'm new, don't know everything about the software, maybe it's because I don't necessarily have the sounds I want and/or put in a specific place.

How do you guys get inspiration? I've been sitting here for two days wanting to do more but haven't. I added two sounds to two different songs within that time period. Nothing major either...

I also had another question, what are the main types of sounds/instruments used in a track? Descriptions of Synthwave/Retrowave and Rap. Modern, Trap, Oldschool etc. I wish I would have payed attention in music class... Or even had one in most of my schools lol.

Go on YouTube and watch beatmaking videos. Gets me hyped when I need a push.
I watch skate videos before I skate to get hyped as well.

As far as sounds to use, keep it simple
Drums
Bass
Something with a melody.

Get a shitty Casio keyboard.

I got a Komplete Kontrol M32 and My Deepmind 6 Synth comes today or tomorrow so I'm good in the Keyboard department. LOOOL @Casio though. You know that's Exactly what I think I'll do (not the Casio, listen to music lol). Lately I been listening to different stuff like Jazz and 90's Rock to see what I am trying to do in my head. I think I am just a little stressed lately. Been learning lots of stuff about music though.

Yea I usually like to over do things but I "know" how I like my music to sound and it doesn't need to be melodramatic at all. Some of the most classic songs, MOST have a simple, catchy beat.
