still not able to update MPC touch on new mac

i just got a new computer running Mojave after not being able to update past 2.3 because of what i thought was a outdated hardware problem but im running into the same probem on my new mac. The difference is that this time I can see my mouse cursor and my mac loading screen on the mpc screen when before the screen was totally unresponsive when i tried to update. I uninstalled/re-installed all drivers, changed the usb port, allowed the displaylink permission in system preferences but i still cant see my desktop when i go to configure screen.....am i doing something wrong???
