Hello, wonderful MPC folks. I have had the Akai Professional MPC Studio MK1 slimline for 3 years and upgraded to MPC 2.0 software. I'm hoping I can use the Midi out on my MPC studio to control drums on my Motif XS8 workstation. I ordered Midi breakout cables and plan on trying this out, tomorrow. Would I be able to basically use my MPC Studio as a Midi drum pad controller, this way?
I also have Studio One 6.5 but, unfortunately, I can only import audio tracks from my MPC Studio.
I find would rather build my music in my Yamaha Motif XS8 (and Cubase) if I have to. That is why I want to use the MPC studio as a Midi pad controller. I would rather not program hundreds of drum patterns on my keyboard.
The MPC Studio is hundreds of times better for drum pattern creation than my PreSonus Atom.
Thanks.

Have you tried MIDI Control Mode? This should still be an option in 2.x.

EDIT: Also, using a plain MIDI track in MPC Software is also an option.
