MPK61 sustain problem

all of a sudden the "sustain" option for footswitch 1 no longer works. scroll to it, hit enter, mpk reverts back to cc. it works for all other options (arp on/off, tempo, etc.). coincidentally, in the vyzex editor "sustain" isn't even an option when setting up footswitches. i've email akai and they told me to let them know what i can figure out. ha! thanks akai...that's about what i expect out of their customer service.

i have yet to try factory reset, but it's next on the list.

anybody else ever had an issue like this? my mpk is about 2 years old and is well taken care of.
