So, this happened when I was installing MPCstuff fat pads onto my MPK49...

Has anyone run into this problem and know how to fix it? Very scarce info on the web about replacing this piece, which seems odd considering how easily it snapped off of my MPK49.
The other problem is that if i push the slider base with a bobby pin it now appears that only a fraction of the midi signal is being sent:
