I have an MPK49 an MPC and a Motif rack. (the other stuff shouldn't matter.)

I run midi from the MPK to the MPC to the motif. Currently, I'm not really using samples, just using the MPC as a sequencer.

The MPC has a sequence with 8 tracks.

Track 1 is midi channel 1.
Track 2 is midi channel 2 - etc

Lets say I have 8 patches in the Motif set up for each channel 1-8.

I want to set the 8 sliders to volumes for each of those patches' channels.

Patch 1 is on channel 1.
Patch 2 is on channel 2 - etc.

So When I set the controller's slider to midi channel 7A - and to #CC 07 ---

Why does it control whatever channel I'm on and not just Channel 7A?

For example, if I'm on my drum track (channel 2 - that plays patch 2 (that's on channel 2) - then why does the channel 7 slider on the MPK change the volume of channel 2?

It could be a single setting in the Motif that I'm not seeing, but it seems pretty specific – when I set the MPK to channel 7. What is the point of that if it's not being selective?

Any ideas would be super awesome.

Thanks.
