Triggering samples from a hardware sampler

Hey everyone,
I was wondering, with my MPD26, I could trigger samples from an external hardware sampler like the S1000 (or something of the sort). I don't want a PC involved at all.

I've seen enough videos to know that the MPC is compatible with the S1000 and other hardware samplers, but I just don't have the bucks to get one right now. Can the MPD be used in the same way?

Midi out of the S1000 to Midi in of the 26.
Your going to need to buy an extra Ac adapter though to run power through
your Mpd26.

you can trigger samples with the MIDI controller, but you're still going to need a sequencer if you intend on doing anything other than just triggering sounds in real-time.
