Need to connect LPD8 to BFD2

Does anybody have any idea why BFd2 is not responding to LPD8? I am a complete noob and have been messing with this for 2 days trying to figure it out to no avail. Running Windows 7 and Reaper but am seriously considering putting Sonar X1 LE on for no other reason than there appears to be some preset integration with BFD2 and I am very tired of this "setting up" issue and just want to make some music.

Did the LPD8 come with a driver? You might want to check the midi settings in the BFD2 sometimes it something as simple as enabling it.
