What beat making software do you use with your mpk/mpd etc?

I was thinking of getting an akai controller, but what is a good software to use with it to make hip hop beats?

I really really like Geist.

Yeah Geist and BPM are probably the best two if you're gonna map a controller yourself. Both apps include templates to load in the MPD32 that have a lot mapped already.

If you aren't looking for the more standalone MPC style these apps provide, Reason between Redrum, Kong, and it's NN samplers can be made to do all kinds of things similar to an MPC with a good pad controller.
